Wuling Farm Campground is your only camping option anywhere near Wuling Farm (Lishan is probably the closest). The only downside is that it is a busy campground setup for large numbers. Each site has a tent platform, a picnic table, parking for one car, an electrical outlet and thieving monkeys (not every site has monkeys).
Reservations don’t appear necessary except for absolute peak times. I arrived w/o a reservation on a holiday weekend while the peach/cherry trees were blooming.
How to get there – The easiest way to get there is to drive up Hwy 7 (becomes 7甲) from Yilan (about 2.5 hours) but you can also get there from the Northern Cross Island Hwy, Hehuanshan and Taroko Gorge. Regardless of what route you take it is recommended that you stay at least one night. Wuling Farm is clearly signed off of Hwy 7甲. The roads to the campground are clearly marked but the final stretch of road is very narrow and cars frequently have to backup to allow others to pass by.
