Inambakan Falls

Inambakan Falls was my favorite waterfall that I visited in Cebu. It almost has the beauty of Kawasan Falls without the development or the people. The hike isn’t really long but it is a little challenging and there are 3 great swimming holes. If you don’t mind a little challenge getting here then this is definitely the one for you in Cebu.

Rating and length – moderately easy – about 1.5 km (1 hour) round trip

Accessibility – It is a rough road but cars can make it – the trail is a little slippery but no more than normal

Height – 20 meters tall (my estimate)

How to get there – It is located 3.9km off of the main road near Ginatilan

Mass transit options – You can take the bus from the Cebu City south bus station (via Barilli) for about 125-150 pesos (3 hours). Get off the bus at Ginatilan. You can hire a motorcycle taxi to take you to the waterfall.

The hike – From the ticket house go down the stairs and turn right when you reach the creek. It won’t take 15 minutes to reach the first tier. At the first tier there are 3-4 picnic pavilions up above the falls. Past the picnic pavilions there is a trail that goes up to the 2nd tier. This waterfall isn’t as big but it is an awesome place for swimming especially if there are people at the first tier. Above the 2nd tier is another great swimming hole that will take a few minutes to reach.

Seasonality – Inambakan Falls should be running year round but possibly with reduced flow in Jan-Apr.

Entrance fee – 40 pesos (foreigners) and 20 Filipinos

Guides – not required but you might have one follow you and expect a tip. A little helpful for going to the 2nd and 3rd tiers of the waterfall.
