Menggu Waterfall 夢谷瀑布 (Dream Valley Waterfall) used to be a developed weekend destination but floods and landslides have wiped out the infrastructure and all that remains is the stream and waterfall. The waterfall is quite nice though and there are several other waterfalls in the area that can be combined into a daytrip.
Rating and length – very easy <0.5 km (<30 minutes round trip)
Accessibility – You will need to drive a couple of km down a single lane well paved road. You can see the falls from a gravel road but the best views require crawling over rocks or walking in the creek.
How to get there – Drive up Hwy 14 from Puli towards Wushe. Turn off of Hwy 14 in Nanshan (left turn after a Family Mart and 7-11) near km marker 71.5. The road is narrow but it will fit oncoming traffic at spots. Drive until you see an intersection with a Menggu Valley (夢谷瀑布) sign in Chinese. Park at this intersection.
The hike – The hike follows the road to the river past a rose farm. After a couple of minutes you reach an overlook with a view of the waterfall at a destroyed public restroom. The rock road leads to the creek.
Seasonality – possibly year round
